Chenille Patches
Chenille is the fluffy, tufted, raised-texture patch you know from letterman jackets and varsity letters. It's made by looping yarn into a soft pile on a felt backing, which gives it a tactile, dimensional surface unlike any other patch type — instantly recognisable and full of heritage character.
Chenille works best for big, bold, simple shapes: single letters, numbers, mascots, and chunky emblems. The pile texture is the whole point, so it rewards designs with room to breathe and doesn't suit fine detail or small text. Many chenille patches pair a chenille body with an embroidered outline or accent to sharpen the edges.
